Eternia Solar Constructed the Largest Solar Power Plant in the Baltic Region

Eternia Solar has executed the largest solar project in the Baltic region. Company’s experts have engineered and constructed a 3 MW solar power plant in Elektrėnai municipality. Together with a previously built 1 MW PV system in the area, it now amounts to the largest solar park in the Baltic states with a total capacity of 4 MW. The project has been executed in collaboration with the solar park owners “Ignitis grupė”.

The overall land area of the PV plant is 5.5 HA. Almost 10 000 PV panels have been installed throughout the site. It is expected that the solar power plant will generate up to 100 GWh of electricity over its lifetime. According to “Ignitis grupė”, this PV system can generate enough electricity to power up to 2 000 homes. The solar park will reduce the annual CO2 emission by 74 000 tons.

“We are extremely proud of our Eternia Solar team and its commitment to a high level of professionalism. Our experts are trusted with the largest and most ambitious solar projects in the Baltic region. In 2019, Eternia Solar constructed one of the largest rooftop solar systems in the Baltics. Now we have also installed the largest ground-mounted PV power plant throughout the region. There is a growing interest in renewable energy solutions and I am sure that a number of even larger and more ambitious projects are coming our way in the future”, said Dr Andrius Džiaugys, COO at Eternia Solar.

Eternia Solar is the leading solar energy construction company within the Baltic region. In 2019, the company built a 1.4 MW rooftop solar system for UAB Retal Lietuva. It is one of the largest PV systems of this type in the Baltics.
